With over 20 years of experience in primary education, Kat has taught across all stages, from Early Years to Key Stage 2. As a dedicated SENCO for the past 19 years, she has successfully led on both the strategic direction and the day-to-day operations for SEND, ensuring outstanding outcomes for children with additional needs.

Her leadership has extended beyond her school, as she has served as an SLE for SEND, supporting schools in Wakefield and Kirklees. In her current roles, Kat delivers primary SEND ITT content for Calderdale and Kirklees SCITT, mentors SENCOs, and coaches ECTs and staff new to their roles, always promoting best practices and legal compliance. Her commitment to collaboration is evident through her participation in the pyramid SENCO group, where she offers both support and challenge to peers.
